Mice homozygous for a truncated allele exhibit decreased testis weight, oligospermia, arrested male meiosis, and abnormal increased frequency of XY dissociation in meiotic metaphase I spermatocytes with reduced crossover and compromised double-strand break repair in the pseudoautosomal region.
