Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout)
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion

Mutation detailsThe loxP flanked region including exon 7 was excised from Ikbkbtm1Cgn via cre mediated recombination. The deleted region encoded amino acids 160 through 189, including serines 177 and 181, two residues of the activation loop that are essential for kinase activity. Excision of the floxed fragment results in splicing between exons 6 and 8, producing a protein that lacks kinase activity but that is incorporated into the Ikbk complex. (J:85810)
