Mutation
origin
Germline Transmission:  Earliest citation of germline transmission: J:73524
Parent Cell Line:  R1 (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  (129X1/SvJ x 129S1/Sv)F1-Kitl+
Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Modified regulatory region, Null/knockout)
Mutation:    Disruption caused by insertion of vector

Mutation detailsThe 341 bp ectoderm enhancer was deleted and replaced with a floxed neo cassette via homologous recombination. Transient expression of cre recombinase in correctly targeted cells removed the floxed neo cassette leaving behind a single loxP site in place of the ectoderm enhancer. PCR genotype analysis confirmed the mutant allele in homozygous animals. (J:73524)
