Mice homozygous for a knock-out allele exhibit impaired cognitive function and altered hippocampal synapse morphology. When conditionally deleted in addition to Lrrtm2, mice homozygous for a conditional allele exhibit impaired basal AMPA receptor transmission and LTP.
