Mutation
origin
Germline Transmission:  Earliest citation of germline transmission: J:67364
Parent Cell Line:  R1 (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  (129X1/SvJ x 129S1/Sv)F1-Kitl+
Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout)
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion

Mutation details7.8 kb of sequence were replaced with a neomycin selection cassette. The deleted region included exon 2, which contains the guanosine of the translational start codon, and exon 3, whcih encodes the entire coiled-coil domain. Western blot analysis of homozygous mutant mice showed an absence of the normal protein product. (J:67364)
