Nullizygous mutations lead to altered colonic microbiota, increased susceptibility to induced colitis and/or inflammation-associated colon tumorigenesis. Homozygotes for a null allele show lower blood pressure and sex-specific changes in urine concentrating ability, cognition, and anxiety behavior.
