Mice homozygous for a knock-out allele exhibit a reduction in CD8-positive, alpha-beta T cell number and CD8-positive, gamma-delta intraepithelial T cell number. Mice homozygous for a different knock-out allele exhibit increased susceptibility to E. coli infection and diminished response to RvD2.
