Seven primer sets were designed to assess if the entire transcript was detectable at the various developmental stages. The location of the amplicon from each primer set is depicted schematically in Fig. 3E; in short, primer set 7 amplifies at the 5' end and primer set 1 amplifies at the 3' end. The three E7.0 embryos used in this experiment were from a single litter but ranged in developmental age from 1 (least advanced) to 4 (most advanced).
