Mutation details: This transgene contains the unmutated, functionally rearranged immunoglobulin heavy-chain variable region segments, comprising V558(DSP2)J4, from the MRL/MP-Faslpr-derived hybridoma 2-12 joined to the mu constant region (Ighm) exons from BALB/c, which is of the Igha allotype. The encoded IGH chain, in combination with various immunoglobulin light chains, recognizes the nuclear antigen Sm and single stranded, but not double stranded, DNA.
