Transgene
description
Transgene Type:    Transgenic (Humanized sequence, Inserted expressed sequence)
Mutation:    Insertion

Tg(Prnp-RTN3)2Yanr expresses 1 gene

Mutation detailsThe hRTN3 transgene was designed with a C-terminally myc-tagged human reticulon 3 (RTN3) cDNA inserted between exon 2 and exon 3 of mouse prion protein (PrP or Prnp) gene at two unique XhoI sites in the Mo-Prp.Xho plasmid vector. This transgene was microinjected into the male pronuclei of fertilized FVB/N oocytes. Mice from founder line 2 (RTN3-Tg2) were bred with C57BL/6J mice to establish the colony. Line 2 expressed 1-2-fold higher levels of reticulon 3 compared to wild-type. (J:122560)
