Transgene
description
Transgene Type:    Transgenic (Inducible, Inserted expressed sequence)
Inducer:    doxycycline/tetracycline
Mutation:    Insertion

Tg(tetO-Clock)1Jt expresses 1 gene

Mutation detailsA transgenic vector was designed to carry the full-length wildtype mouse Clock gene downstream of a tetracycline-responsive promoter (TRE; tetO). Crossing these mice with mice expressing the tTA or reverse tetracycline-controlled transactivator protein under control of tissue-specific promoters, transgene expression can be regulated in appropriate tissues in the offspring with administration of the tet analog doxycycline.
