Transgene
description
Transgene Type:    Transgenic (Inserted expressed sequence)
Mutation:    Insertion

Tg(Cd152Ig)1Jbs expresses 2 genes

Mutation detailsThe transgene contains a mouse Ctla4/Igh-1a fusion cDNA from which a soluble form of the CD152 antigen (CTLA4Ig) is expressed under control of the human keratin 14 (KRT14) enhancer/promoter, which directs expression to basal squamous epithelial cells primarily of the skin, thymus and tongue. Expression is enhanced by inclusion in the construct of most of the human growth hormone gene to provide intronic, 3' non-coding and polyadenylation sequences. Transgenic mice show blood circulating blood levels of CTLA4Ig that are easily detectable by ELISA or functional assays. (J:35353, J:65045)
