Transgene
description
Transgene Type:    Transgenic (Humanized sequence, Inserted expressed sequence)
Mutation:    Insertion

Tg(CETP)5203Tall expresses 1 gene

Tg(CETP)5203Tall expression driven by 1 gene

Mutation detailsThe transgene contains the human CETP mini gene under the control of its own promoter. The mini gene consists of 3.2 Kb of 5' flanking sequence, exons 1-2 and 13-16, and 2.0 Kb of 3' flanking sequence. (J:69181)

Notes
Transgenic mice on a genetic background that involves C57BL/6J and CBA/J show a marked increase in CETP mRNA in liver when mice are fed a high fat, high cholesterol diet. Less dramatic increases are observed in spleen, small intestine and adipose tissues. Elevated plasma CETP protein levels are also observed.
