Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Conditional ready, No functional change)
Mutation:    Insertion

Mutation detailsA 7172 bp insert containing a splice acceptor, IRES, lacZ reporter gene and a neomycin resistance gene, all flanked by two FLP recombinase target sites was placed in intron 2 at the same time that loxP sites were inserted on either side of exon 3. Northern blot analysis established the absence of mRNA transcripts from the targeted gene and Western blots demonstrated the absence of protein products. (J:84096)
