RT-PCR RLFP analyses for the detection of mRNA transcripts arising from Il11Ra1 and IL11Ra2. In this amplified fragment of 170bp, Il11ra2 has a BamHI site and Il11ra1 does not. The amplified fragments were digested with BamHI and subsequently Southern blotted with a mixture of 2 probes. The probes were designed such that all restriction fragments would hybridize.
