(a) This band contains exon 18A, the full length isoform. This is the predominant transcript in brain and spinal cord. (b) This band contains exon 18N, which contains an in-frame stop codon and produces a truncated protein product. This is a predominant transcript in non-neural tissues. (c) This band does not contain exon 18. The open reading frame is maintained, but the S3 and S4 segments of domain III are lacking. There are lower levels of this transcript than 18N in brain. This is a predominant transcript in non-neural tissues. |
