Overexpression of the transgenic protein was detected by Western blot analysis of heart extracts. Biochemical assays showed that kinase activity was approximately 3 times greater in heart extracts from transgenic mice than from wild-type mice. The Myh6 promoter drives expression in myocardial tissue. (J:37034)
