Mutation details: A targeting vector which contained a floxed neomycin selection cassette in intron 4 and a loxP site in intron 5 was electroporated into ES cells that were subsequently transiently transfected with a cre recombinase expression plasmid. The expression of cre resulted in the excision of the neo transgene, leaving exon 5 flanked by loxP sites. Mice carrying this allele were used to generate Ptentm1.1.
