Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout)
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion

Mutation detailsPortions of exon 1 and intron 1 were replaced by a neomycin selection cassette. Normal protein was undetected in homozygous mutant mice via flow cytometric analysis of bone marrow cells and staining of kidney sections. An assay of bone marrow cell culture supernatents showed no aberrant secretion of any protein product that could have been produced by targeted allele. Assays of renal cells, intestinal enterocytes, and stimulated bone marrow cells confirmed the ablation of aminopeptidase activity. (J:47424)
