Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout)
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion

Mutation detailsA neomycin resistance gene under the control of a pol2 promoter replaced the transcription initiation codon and the sequences encoding the transmembrane domain. Northern blot analysis showed an absence of normal transcipt in homozygous mutant mice. A truncated message was detected, however, Western blot analysis showed there to be no protein expression in homozygous mutant animals. (J:68876)
